The Results Select Camp is more than just a showcase; it's a comprehensive development opportunity for the state's most promising young talent. Led by Matt Mackenzie of Results Basketball, the camp is structured to mimic a collegiate-level experience, preparing athletes both physically and mentally for the next step in their careers. As an invitation-only event, the camp ensures a high-caliber environment, featuring over 80 of the top-ranked boys and girls in Maine. A core principle of the program is to provide this experience completely free of charge to all campers.
The Results Select Camp is an invitation-only event, with players chosen through a selection process. The selection committee bases its decisions on the players' performance during the high school season. This evaluation is complemented by firsthand observation from the committee, who scout and assess talent at other Big Time Hoops events and throughout the Maine Grassroots Basketball League. This ensures that the camp roster is comprised of the state's most dedicated and talented players.
The camp's curriculum is designed to reflect the evolving dynamics of modern basketball. Instead of focusing on traditional positions, all instruction centers on "positionless basketball," where players are expected to be skilled and versatile enough to play and defend anywhere on the court.
A primary goal of the Results Select Camp is to connect deserving players with college programs. The event consistently attracts coaches from colleges all over New England who attend to scout the talent. The camp also provides a unique mentorship opportunity through a Q&A panel where former Maine standouts return to share their experiences and advice with the next generation of players.
The Results Select Camp series is just one part of the program's commitment to developing Maine's best. The program looks ahead to the next group of talented Maine basketball players by offering the Results Basketball Next Up Camps, which will return for their third year for the state's most promising 7th and 8th graders.
